11/12/2023 FAULT: We are aware of a fault that has developed with the wind sensor not reading any wind speeds. However it is recording direction. This fault is planned for rectifcation on Thursday as the mast needs to come down for inspection. We appologise for any inconvinience and this will be sorted as soon as its safe to do so. High windspeeds dont allow for safe access to lower the mast for inspection. For the time being, We are using wind speed data from the Liverpool John Lennon Airport EGGP Metar. which is updated twice a hour.

Facts and figures about the weather
Fact 11 - WIND CHILL
Wind Chill - The wind chill temperature is what the temperature "feels like" to people and animals during cold weather. Wind chill is based on the rate of heat loss from exposed skin caused by wind and cold. As the wind increases, it draws heat from the body, driving down skin temperature and eventually the internal body temperature. Once temperatures drop below 10 °F and the wind is gusting, conditions are ripe for cold-related illnesses. Below -5 °F, any wind is a major factor in frostbite and hypothermia.
